Here We Go

Just a quick check-in. Am working an insane amount (next off day is AUG 15). But that's a good thing.

Had my shakuhachi lesson with Jim in Brooklyn today. He's back from vacation last week in the Yucatan. We're getting through "Shika no Tone". This is pretty monumental for me because it means I've reached the end of the line of "regular" repertoire (there are additional "optional" levels still to be done). It's taken almost 5 years. We'll finish Shika no Tone in 2 weeks, at which point we go all the way back to "Kurokami", turn the music upside down and I will begin the teaching level.

Getting through that probably takes another year +. It's all good though.

Off to the Bateaux now...

Also have a solo Bossa/Shak gig at the Dyckman Farmhouse coming up AUG 11. Much to do.
