Long Road

This Wednesday night Feb 1st will be 4 weeks since the car accident in Florida. The first week anniversary - Jan 11th hit us pretty hard. We looked at each other at around 9 pm that night and acknowledged the passage - or completion - of one week.

It has been a flurry of emotions this month. Emotions and a strange mix of surrender, bewilderment, acceptance, gratitude, humility, disbelief, resignation - did I mention gratitude?

Seeing the car the day after solidified my impression that there was a certain element of luck or good fortune that it wasn't any worse. We plowed into some lady that missed a stop sign, pulled right in front of us.

The following Tuesday was a bad day when we found out from the Police report that the lady we hit had been drinking. It somehow made it worse.

I've got a fractured left clavicle - collar bone in normal speak. They told me 4 weeks ago that it would take 6 weeks to heal. I have a Dr.'s appt tomorrow. I'll know more.

Hey Karl, you and Monika are the nicest people I know, and I'm beyond glad that you guys are ok. You will get through this (you already have).

Yikes, a broken collar bone can't be good for playing bass. Or guitar. Or piano, shakuhachi flute, etc. Not that I can think of bone it would be 'better' to break.

Hope yo guys are on the mend, that's really awful.
